Will these accept a gas check (through a Lee lube / sizer die)? That solves a lot of the BP vs. Smokeless issue.

No they are flat base in 1% tin to 20% lead.

Can these be used in a modern .45-70? I see them listed as a Black powder bullet so just wanted to double check. Thanks,

A:
The Black Powder bullets are for using true black powder so we would not recommend using them if you are not shooting true black powder. For the modern .45-70 with smokeless powder try our Hi-Tek supercoat bullet .45cal RNFP 405gr.

Q:
I am looking at the .45 caliber, 405 grain cast, black powder cast bullets. I would like to start reloading for my Springfield Trapdoor but want to load with smokeless powder. I don't think there would be any problems using these bullets with smokeless powder, but want to check just to be certain. Thanks for your time.

The answer to this question is yes you can use the BP bullet with smokeless powder or with BP. But we do have a 405 in our coated bullets that would work just as well or better for smokeless powder. The coated bullet is the lube and everything so your gun would be cleaner as well as your hands, dies, etc. The BP bullet comes lubed with our special lube designed for true black powder.

A:
The Black Powder is lubed for only black powder. However, if you order the same bullet in our HI-TEK SUPERCOAT you can shoot with smokeless.
